Hydraulic tensioner of the timing chain 244102G810 HYUNDAI/KIA is an element of the drive of the gas distribution mechanism, which is designed to maintain the necessary tension of the chain. Chain tension is necessary so that it does not sag and jump off the sprockets of the camshafts. The hydraulic tensioner of the timing chain is a hydraulic cylinder filled with working fluid. The working fluid under pressure presses on the tensioner piston, which moves the tensioner rod and thereby tightens the chain.
Hydraulic tensioners of the timing chain are of two main types:

Adjustable hydraulic tensioners. In such tensioners, you can adjust the pressure of the working fluid, which affects the chain tension. Adjustable hydraulic tensioners allow you to adjust the chain tension more precisely.
- Non-adjustable hydraulic tensioners. In such tensioners, the pressure of the working fluid is not regulated. Non-adjustable hydraulic tensioners are simpler and more reliable, but they provide less accurate chain tension.
