Hydraulic tensioner of the timing chain 244102E000 HYUNDAI/KIA is an element of the drive of the gas distribution mechanism, which is designed to maintain the necessary tension of the chain. Chain tension is necessary so that it does not sag and jump off the sprockets of the camshafts. The hydraulic tensioner of the timing chain is a hydraulic cylinder filled with working fluid. The working fluid under pressure presses on the tensioner piston, which moves the tensioner rod and thereby tightens the chain.
