Cardan clutch elastic 491302B000 HYUNDAI/KIA is a cardan transmission part that serves to compensate for angular shifts between cardan shafts. It is an elastic element that connects two shafts and allows them to rotate with small angular deviations.
The elastic cardan coupling consists of the following main parts:
The hinge is the main element of the coupling, which provides an elastic connection between the cardan. The hinge consists of two metal rings connected by a rubber insert.
The case protects the hinge from damage. The body is made of metal or plastic.
Fasteners connect the clutch to the cardan. Fasteners are made of metal.
The elastic cardan coupling performs the following functions:
Compensates the angular displacement between the gimbal. This allows the cardan to rotate smoothly, without jerks and vibrations.
Protects the cardan shaft from damage. The flexible coupling absorbs shocks and vibrations that can be transmitted to the drive shaft.
